Why the career profile matters
Every generator reads your career profile (career JSON). The AI is instructed not to invent experience — incomplete profiles produce thin or empty output. A complete profile is required before generation succeeds.
Fill from a resume
Extract structured data from an existing document into your profile fields (this does not upload the file to My Files):
- Click Fill from resume and choose PDF or DOCX.
- Wait for AI extraction — fields populate across tabs (Personal, Experience, Skills, etc.).
- Review each section — extraction may miss graphics-heavy layouts or scanned PDFs.
- Click Save profile — the page reloads from the server to confirm persistence.
- Use text-based PDFs for best extraction quality.
- After save, check the readiness banner for any missing required fields.
- AI extractions are limited by your plan (shown as a badge on Fill from resume).
Manual editing
Use the tabbed editor to add or fix:
- Personal — name, email, phone, location, headline.
- Experience — roles, companies, dates, bullet achievements.
- Skills, Education, Projects, Certifications, and other sections.
- Save after edits — unsaved changes are lost on navigation.
Backup & JSON export
Use Export JSON for offline backup. Import JSON restores a previous snapshot. Backups panel stores automatic snapshots on each save.
Clear entire profile
Use Clear Profile on the Career page when you want to start over. You must confirm the action. A backup is saved automatically before clearing so you can restore from Backups if needed.
